I won by being the 500th follower on the Here come the boys blog challenge .   I was looking around for cards for men and stumbled on there wonderful blog challenge.  The lovely  Sharon, Karen, Teresa, Donna, Di, Wendy, & Jacky sent me this absolutely adorable image that they where going to buy for me, then they where given  from Teddy Bo & Co wasn't that just so lovely of them. They had a big write up on there blog about me being the 500th follower wasn't I lucky.

I so have a man card deficiency in my card stash only one card its so sad hey.

I have been busy went to an 6 hour stampin'up card making class yesterday and met some absolutely lovely ladies.  Here is a picture of some of the cards I made on the day.
And bonus that they where selling off discontinued old stock of stamps so I couldn't help it I bought 4 sets,  I am so going to get inky today.

I would also like to welcome as  followers Craftymonkey from the here comes the boys blog challenge & Cissy.  Darnell is also following me, I have followed her since the first day I set up this blog (she is so funny and her cards are so lovely) .  How wonderful that we can all get to know each other through card making.  Looking forward to seeing what we can all come up with in our creative moments.

Just Add Ink

Hi there im doing the just add ink challenge today and its CASEing a card from Jodenes wonderful Blog. So you can go to her blog and pick any of the cards to case.  Here is the link to the card I chose  Jodenes Card...  I used pool party and wisteria wonder inks.  I did the middle slightly off center to the left the same as her card.  I did use butterflies think it kind of does justice to her lovely flowers that she has on her card. I really like the wispy feel of the flowers in the colors of her card.. So that is what I took from her card the lovely color and the outdoor feel of the card.  Of course it is square like her one.  So hope you like my card Jodene..

So this is my card.......

Ink ...................Wisteria Wonder, Pool party, Island indigo
Card Stock.... Wisteria wonder, White

Case study challenge #86

I'm onto a new challenge today this is a case study challenge they have a wonderful inspiration card from the very talented Laurie Schmidlin.

Case study inspiration card...
I love this style but I struggle with layers, frills, FLOWERS and paper tearing.  I never seem to quite get it right.  But hey that's what challenges are all about,  that's why I'm here to learn, try and even fail.  I did do all the background stamping with my trusty word stamp and the lovely flower and flourish stamps.  The flowers, does anyone else struggle so with flowers. I just didn't have the right color and my flowers hmmm need more practice. In the end I did the make a phone call and called a friend with a flower emergency.  What we came up with was a white flower and we inked it and put a pink brad in the middle.  What do you think does it work or have you any suggestions for something that maybe would of worked better..

So this is our card.....

Card Stock .........Cream, Razzleberry
Punches..............Decorative label
Ink.........................Stampin'up Pale Plum, Razzleberry
Paper....................Razzleberry
Stamp sets..........Kaszazz Dainty flourish, Kaiser craft Loire Valley, Stampin'up En Fraincais, Sincere salutations, Kaiser craft Loire Valley.
Lace ..................... Stampin'up Chantilly
Flowers.................No idea it was in a little packet loose no name on it.  We took out the stem and put the pink brad in it.

Just because I had my camera out taking a photo of my card.  I took a photo of  this lovely Bougainvillea that I just bought to go in the garden.  This is such a striking color can't wait for it to grow and climb and be a mass of flowers next year.

I would also like to welcome my 2 new followers Amanda and Suzanne.  Hope you enjoy taking a peek at my blog and find something here to inspire or make you smile :)

I would like to welcome my new followers 3 today Rita, Michelle and Lisa. Hope you enjoy Looking in on my little blog.. Hope I can inspire you to try something new that you haven't  done before.

So 2 challenges today The play date cafe is a color challenge to use Avocado, Blue mist and grey wool.  It always says on the challenges that if you don't have the exact color to try to match as close as possible.  Think I came close to the colors on the picture they used for inspiration.  The Color challenge is a really big challenge for me but it makes you use colors that you would normally not use.  The Clean and simple stamping is a sketch challenge.  I was happy with the finished result.  Played with the flower for ages then I found the big button brad and it was just the right thing to finish it off.
To leave the swirl on the tag or not, that is the question....

                                                              Details below....

Stamp set .............Happiest birthday wishes
Button....................Kaiser craft brad pack, Belle collection
Ink...........................Lucky Limeade, Sage shadow

Whats on your workdesk wednesday

I have been looking at julias blog stamping ground  WOYWW #148 (I'm #112)
for a few weeks now.  Its where people from all over the world put a link to a picture of there work desks.  You can see what other people are crafting and how people set up there stuff.
Thought its time I joined in with my little area.  This is huge for me as I have only recently (well the last 2 months) had this set up all the time for me to make cards, scrapbook anytime and not have to pack it all up.  Its pretty much the same time as I started blogging.
I have this cool cupboard at the bottom right that I got from office works that I can wheel out. It fits perfectly under my table.  It has suspension folders for paper,  Stamps and ribbons are in all the draws.  I love my stand at the back that I keep all my fave punches and some stamp pads in. Sorry for the glare at the top of the picture it was so sunny today.
Close up of my desk........

Well that's it for me.
Have a great day and go have a peek at all the blogs at Julia's.
One of my faves to look at is  tracy swartz she makes the most amazing things out of gourds and she is making an owl this week its so cute take a peek.

Have great day
Sandy :)

Monday, April 2, 2012

I would like to welcome my 2 new followers Heatherlynne and Suszu welcome to my blog.  Hope I can inspire you to try a new technique or two.

Another first for me today its a color challenge at  The play date cafe  Black, White and brown.  I Have tried to stay really simple, as I think the train image I found at the free vintage digi stamps blog is so lovely.  Its perfect for the men folk in our lives. .

The digi stamp blog is just awesome.  I have really enjoyed looking at all the images.  I have saved many of the pictures, papers, and frames from here on my computer already, they will  make such great cards.  Its well worth a look, grab a coffee you will be there for a while.
So this is my card....
Details Below ......

Ink....................... Black
Image .................Free vintage digi stamps
Stamp set..........Stampin'up Happiest Birthday wishes
Card stock.........Black, white, brown
Die cut................Ez cut Picket fence die

Method to the railway track......
I cut off the top of the picket fence, to make it straight.  I then cut a very thin slice of black card stock, same size as the other rail and pasted it on one side,  with a glue stick  to make railway track. Put the glued part of the track underneath and you can hardly tell.  Thought it worked really well.

Have a great day...
Sandy :)
