What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 169 & DT news

I have been a busy stamper and still have to make 2 more cards before the weekend for special Birthdays.  One is a 21st and the other a 1st birthday card so just don't have those ones in my stash.  I have been crafty shopping too did you see?  Tim Holtz goodies cant wait to use them.  I had bought the butterfly, bird cage and the branch and leaf, then realised I needed the tray to cut them on.  Then when I went  to get it they had sold out so I have been waiting for 4 weeks to get it. I ordered it and they had it sitting there for me but I had not been able to get in to get it.  I am so looking forward to using them all and seeing them on some cards.  I also got a ruler and cutting board so I can do some patch working.   I have been doing some triple time stamping. I did 3 of them and they are sitting at the side, as my friend is coming to pick the wedding one up this afternoon.  Here is a link to these cards if you would like a better look.
So here is my desk.....

I wanted to share with you some BIG news.  I have just found out that I have been accepted as a Design Team member at a new challenge blog

I am very excited and honoured to be included in this new adventure and am looking forward to seeing all the wonderful cards and projects that everyone links up.  The challenge goes for another 4 days yet so there is still time to enter and join in the fun.

Have a great day

Triple Time Stamping

I have been having a bit of fun doing some Triple Time Stamping well that's what the person I found on You tube called this technique.  It was easy to do because of the great explanation of how to do it.  So have a peek at the link and try one yourself.

I did 3 cards a nature one, a wedding one and a just for fun owl one. You will have to tell me which one you like the best.  I kind of got a bit carried away but I had a bit of time and just stamped away.  I always have liked making my own backgrounds so this was just a different way of doing just that.
The first card I am going to enter in at The Play Date Cafe the challenge this week is to use Black White and a splash of Lime.
So here is my card....

The owl one just because I wanted to see what it looked like with a character with eyes   with this technique.  I am entering this one in a new challenge that has just started Challenges 4 everybody this is there first ever challenge.  This week its anything goes....

The wedding one, as my crafting friend has a wedding to go to on the weekend and has all her stuff in storage. The only request was that it was mauve.  This card I am linking to the Joyful stamper it is inspire me Friday anything goes .....

So as you can see I had lots of fun and found somewhere to link all my cards,  just for the fun of it all.  They are just variations of the same theme but all turned out ok.  I was definitely on a roll was so nice to just stamp away.
Have a great day

Freshly Made Sketches #49

It was nice to get inky again and spend a bit of time on the craft desk. I received my order of new stamps and paper yesterday.  When I saw the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches I knew it was just perfect to get all inked up.  Its the stamp set from Stampin'up Bright Blossoms and the DSP Polka Dot Parade  I used the in colors of Raspberry Ripple and Gumball Green such nice bright colors.  Love the 2 of them together they match really well.   The Ribbon is from Kaisercraft.
So here is my card....

So just a quick post of my card.
Have a great day

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday? #168

Hi all, not a lot going on on my desk.  A box my daughter gave me, hmm thinking about how I am going to change and use it.   So I will be looking around for ideas of how to do it.  Seems a good size will have to think on it a bit.  There is a postcard background I am going to blend some ink on it, and do a bit of paper tearing add a bit of layering and lace.  Its been sitting there a few days now.  At the moment still have a bit going on with hubby so my crafty time is limited.  Think I need to maybe just case a few cards, do something a bit easy, maybe make a few copies of the cards I have made recently.

Have you joined in at Julia's stamping ground yet. You so need to take a peek at the wonderful varied projects that are on display on desks around the world.  Careful though its very addictive.  I am off to look at some desks.
Have a great day
Sandy :)

Thanks for the kind thoughts

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts about my hubby.  He is out of hospital and on the mend yay..  He has over 40 stitches in his hand with 2 skin grafts so was rather nasty.  Still lots of therapy to go and appointments to doctors for a while.  Its hard when he is right handed and cant use his hand at all.   I am just glad that he is home now.
Everything always happens at once though as when hubby was in hospital our son turned 21 so the only card that I have made in the last 2 weeks was the one for his birthday.  He is not a big gambler or anything but likes to play roulette when we go up to the casino.  So as you can probably tell its another spinner card he liked the card he  said it was pretty cool.  The paper was a bit of a perfect find it was from Kaisercraft.
So here is his card......

I have still been entering my cards in the Make it Monday challenge and was honoured this week to be picked by Rene as her pick of the week.  It was for my owl with the kites card (here is a link to the original post). So I now have another cool badge for my blog.  Have you joined in at Make it Monday? You can enter any of your cards they don't have to be recent, you can enter that favourite card, just link back to your original post.  The people are lovely and the cards and projects that are linked are awesome.  So take a peek and maybe this week enter a random card.

I am going to enter my roulette card in the challenge for this week at Make it Monday
I have already popped another one on there that I did from a few weeks ago its no 11.

While I was away there was a lovely surprise on my return to find I had a new follower. So I would love to say a huge welcome to stampingirl.

Have a great day (glad to be back)

Friend to Friend

I am having a go at another Moxie Fab world trigger this week its a funky typewriter.  I found a digi one at Free vintage digi stamps that I thought worked well.  I printed it, then stuck it on some light weight cardboard and cut it out to give it some dimension.  I also used this weeks sketch from I Spy Sketches the red and black stripes is supposed to look like old typewriter ribbon.  Remember those I used them in school they where so messy and inky.  Hmmm maybe that's where we all got our addiction to ink.
So here is my card.....

Have a great day

WOYWW & Challenge Win

Few things happening today around here so not much on my desk, so thought I would show you how I store some of my essential craft goodies. You have probably not taken much notice but this sits at the back of my desk.  I pulled all the draws out of it at the sides and cut cardboard to fit the shelves so that my stamps and  punches sit on something.  It started out as the picture below as just all trays and containers. Its really handy just like that to store but needed something upright that did not take up much room on my desk.  As you can see I have bought 2 but have not expanded my collection enough to use the other one yet.  I have a few inks not shown and other  punches but these ones fit really well in here.  Photos are not crash hot today, light is really dodgy, sorry but hope you get the idea.
So why am I showing stuff about my desk you wonder?  Well on Wednesday we all round up and head on over to Julia's stamping ground to have a peek at workdesks all around the world.  Its addictive and highly recommended to have a peek at all the amazing desks of people and the variety of crafts, so come on around and join in on the fun.
So here is my upright storage.....

Well how exciting that I found out today that I had a win in the I Spy sketches challenge.  It was for the owl spinner card I made for my daughters birthday more pics Here .  I was so excited to be chosen amongst all the amazing entries to be a top 2 winner.   Such lovely comments I have had on my cards I am so honoured to be chosen for the top 2.   I am having such fun doing sketches and so enjoying making my cards and trying different things.  My daughter loved the owl spinner card, I got the "that's so cute mum" approval.

It is also my pleasure to welcome as a new follower  Heather.  So hope you enjoy taking a peek around my little blog of cards.

Touch of France

This is such a different style for me, but I like to have a go at different things. This is for a friend of mine who has just come back from Paris. Thought she might like a little bit of Paris for her birthday, hope she likes it.  I made this with images from Free Vintage Digi Stamps they have such lovely French images.  Some of the papers where Kaisercraft.  I blended a lot with Tim Holtz old paper ink and distressed edges.  I even did a bit of paper tearing!!  Background stamp is the En Francais one from Stampin'up.  I  bought the little camera stamp from a market I went to on holidays.  Its such a good little stamp, wish now I had bought a few more of his stamps.  Its just peeking out under the bow and pin.
So here is my card......

WOYWW #165

Hi all, hope this Wednesday finds you all up to your elbows in ink, glue, paint, pens, cardstock, paper, lace, ribbon, twine and all other things crafty.  Its time to take a peek at Julia's Stamping Ground to have a look at the desks of wonderfully crafty people from all over the world.
So here is my desk to take a peek at......

Not a lot going on few stamp sets I haven't put away.  Some twine I am having a go at at coloring.  I have wound it up and inked it with the pink pen. I am happy with what this looks like.  I am going to do a blue and a green think its a really cool idea.  Here is a link to the colored Twine  tutorial on how to do your own.  If  you are like me and have trouble matching it to your project, this might be something you might like to try.  I need to buy myself a plastic bottle to wind it on so the ink wipes off better.  I finally got some washi tape to try, mine just says its masking tape though.  Its been on my wish list for a while so will see if I can get it on to a project soon.
My Santa spinning card is there I make him spin every now and again just because I can. I made my first ever youtube video goes for a whole 15 seconds.  Press play to take a peek, there is more info Here about this card.  I have added a little black belt and silver buckle onto him now it was after I made the video.

Well that's it for me today, I'm off to peek at some desks.
Have a great day
Sandy :)
