Love is...

I have been wanting to have another play with modelling paste for a while and this all came together when I received the stencil for this background.. I have this thing about locks and keys.  I seem to have collected a few things with that theme and I used a few of them on this.. The Tim Holts lock and key die I stringed together along the bottom. The background stencil is a crafters workshop one Mini Antiquities.  I used this stencil with the modelling paste. More book pages cut into hearts and lots of inka gold. It was fun to use that for the first time, it has such a  lovely smooth texture, so shiny and very glossy.  The quote is a stamp from Kaszazz that I cut into strips.

WOYWW #212

That Wednesday came around quickly and its time again to show desks.. I have been busy in my Journal and am about to do some wording to go on a page its nearly finished. Just have to go around it with the blade and then ink it up, then its time for the glue..  I am trying the new to me, Inka gold and love the shiny, glittery look, so pretty.  I brought some Martha Stewart punches the corner and edge set, so have been trying them out on some scraps.. I do like the edge one and it will be nice to have something other than a wavy edge to put on my cards. My craft store is closing down so was nice to get some items at discount prices. I also brought the Tim Holtz sewing room die and made a tag for the Aussie tag swap June.. This die has been on my wish list for ages so was great to get it for half price..

Challenges 4 Everybody #23 DT

Well its time for a new challenge over at Challenges 4 Everybody We have as our sponsor this week  Bugaboo stamps  If you link up with your entry and you are randomly picked, you get to pick 7 free digis of your choice. So come on and join in the fun as always, its Anything goes..

It took me about 2 seconds to choose the image I wanted to work with from Bugaboo this week its called Live-love-laugh-flower-fairies.  Hey you cant go wrong when you have fairies butterflies and flowers.  Then add those words Live, Love, Laugh, winning formula.. So pretty with the little sparkles.  I did add some extra sparkle with some lavender stickles on the butterflies, hard to see with the picture, but it is there.  I sewed on it too, on the banners and the main image edge.  I have been sewing on some of my journal pages so thought it was about time I sewed on a card.

Aussie tag swap, June.

Swaps have been completed, mailed and received so its that time of the month where its the big reveal... This month for the Aussie tag swap I sent my tag off to Tanya.. The theme this month was 'Queen for a day'. I struggled and got really stumped I had the crown and made a completely different tag altogether, but then I mucked it all up and had to start all over again..  So this was my second attempt and if you had of seen the first you would have said this was so much better anyway..

I think Diane of cardenofelan rocked this theme.

flowers and pretty pin and butterfly

Am I not the luckiest to receive such an amazing tag in the mail from Diane. Love happy mail.. Those flowers are so pretty and the little quotes down the side so beautiful. What about the picture wow.. Love the bling on the crown so many little details.
What fun this swap is, I am enjoying the themes it is challenging me to think outside the box and come up with tags I would never have thought of doing.

WOYWW #211

If you have been following along with my blog you will know how much I have been playing in my new journal.. These pages I followed along with France Papillon from paper artsy There is so much to learn and this is all still so new to me. This took me days to do, so many layers and many new techniques..   I did adjust it to suit me but I loved this the layering the crackle texture.  The butterfly did not work the way that France did it, but I cut it out on the plastic and stuck it on and it has such fantastic texture.  I love to adapt things to what I have on hand and France Papillon is one of my favourites to watch on youtube.  I love her style and the layers she gets on the page.. I did the label on the left as you can see I made 2. I made it with the men from Tim Holtz set of stamps but it just did not match the theme of flying.. So went with the balloon from a set from nice crane designs .  This old balloon is one I have been wanting to use for a while.  Quote is ' No one can do it for you, choose to use your wings and fly'

I had some more happy mail from Neet this is just wonderful double sided front and back same Atc, just beautiful. It came in a pretty little envelope. Thanks Neet  I love it..

Colour your World...

I am loving the spray ink backgrounds they are just so vibrant and doesn't that red just pop.. Used a Dylusions stencil to get some funky numbers and the crazy doodle design.. Outlined in white pen randomly trying not to be perfect around all the design its hard to just do it rough, you so want to outline them all so right but then it just looks so wrong.. If you know what I mean.. I sewed on this too see around the world stamp, made a little pocket for the tag. I did not like the middle part at the top it went all brown, so got the washi tape out and covered it and really like that part.  Isn't it fun how you can just change it and cover up ugly..  I dropped the lid of the spray ink bottle on the page and it created a circle and really liked it so popped a few more on there.. Love happy accidents.  I really like the splodge on the bottom right its where I just turned the stencil over and smooshed after doing the inking of the numbers on the left. Can't waste the ink.. I just dobbed paint on my finger and went around the world and the words just looked to white before that.

Yummy colour...

A few had asked me about a journal page I had on my desk last Wednesday so thought I had better finish it off and pop on a post about it.
I had a lot of fun experimenting with some spray inks.. I watched a youtube video so I had some idea of what to do and went to the source of my spray inks.. Dyan from Dylusions Youtube video  So if you have some spray inks and you have not used them like me, have a peek at the video.  Dyan makes it look so easy and really it only took minutes to get a basic background and it really was so quick and easy.. I so love all the bright colours, just makes me happy. I used some texture paste with some paint and a Balzer design doily stencil to get the blue design I really like the pattern..   Had the background done for about a week just wondering what to do then I sprayed some book pages.. Don't you just love book pages.. They turned out so cool so made one of my favourite things to do an owl..  Then I had to find some words, some times I start with the words but this time hmm had to think about it a bit..  I knew this one just felt right when I found it, so on it went.. 'Listen to the colour of your dreams'..   So what do you think did I do ok with my first attempt at spray inking?  I know it wont be my last as wow it was quick and I so love the bright colours..  I am loving this new journal its so great when you find something that suits you to a T..

WOYWW #211

It's cold and wet today here, so the curtain is shut and the lights are on to take the photo.. I have been working on a tag and its off to the post tomorrow.. Learning also about spray inks and playing in my journal doing some backgrounds, so bright and cheerful on such a bleak day..
Well didn't the swap go well?  I am looking forward to the desk hopping and seeing all the little ATC's today..  I have heard that everyone has received my ATC's so can reveal mine now..
My little ATC

I drew and painted mine as this is something that I am just learning . They where such fun little canvases to do everything in miniature..  The little diamonds I did with dobbing paint through and onion bag and liked the little miniature stencil look it created.

Jo's ATC

I received a lovely ATC from Jo's (Twiglet's) so beautiful all the hand stitching and the vintage lace just so pretty and something to treasure.. We had a public holiday last Monday so the other ATC's are probably in the mail somewhere still zooming to me..

Well 2 weeks has rolled around and its time for a new challenge at Challenges 4 Everybody This week we are sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs.  Have you joined in yet? As always its everyone's favourite Anything goes.

This week I made a card using a stamp set that I brought from the paper crafting expo I went too.. Its from Design Objectives and just knew that it was going to be perfect for those cards that we make for the men in our lives.. It has all the essential male elements gears, pocket watch, globe of the world and even the old fashioned telephone.. I popped the brads on to look a little like nails and layered with lots of chocolate chip paper..

I would like to enter this in the following challenges.
Crazy 4 challenges   Fathers day card
Sugar creek hollow  Fathers day card

The Moon or stars??

I saw this quote and just knew had to use it in my new journal.  I have been thinking about how to do it.  I knew I wanted to do it shooting somehow into a sky.. I painted the pages black, 2 coats to cover it totally then drew my image with pencil then painted with Gesso.  Can you see the subtle face on the shooting image? Painted the stars also with the Gesso. They where a bit fuzzy around the edges so got a bold black pen and went around the edges to make the points on the stars, you have to have points on stars!! Touched a few up with a white pen and popped the dots on with that.  I so love this quote..

"Shoot for the moon.  Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars."

It just speaks to me, tells me hey its okay to try something if you fail you just never know where that will take you..

WOYWW #209

I have been joining in on a 22 day Soul journaling course and I am up to the 4th day. I have really enjoyed it so far and liked the knight with all its wording I had to place on it.. I still have to add a few little things around it.  My new journal was just so blank and sitting there looking at me, thought this was the perfect start to make it all messy and full of journaling.

I went to a stampin'up make and take at a friends house it was a great day, still have to finish the pages too much chatting going on.. Well I was sitting there doing my pages when an baby Alpaca walked behind me and into the kitchen.. He was hungry and so cute..  So of course I had to take a picture.

He came up after his photo was taken and got a pat and a cuddle..
